Detail on SFGL rules and gameplay

Ok, so here's how this is going to work.

SFGL is based on Denver/Boulder's Johnny Bravo Goaltimate League, which has run every winter for five years or so. We are blatantly stealing their format (with permission) because it works really well and makes for some fun competition.
  • We will use standard goaltimate rules (no throwing back through the goal, 2 point line, out of bounds, timeouts are a clear, etc.) Official rules are here but it's basically halfcourt ultimate with make-it-take-it, a hoop, and a clear line.
  • You are your own individual team all season. The idea is that with enough games played, the best players will win more often and rise to the top.
  • Rankings will be kept based on win percentage, so it doesn't matter if you miss a week.
  • We'll also have stats for goals and assists, and probably plus-minus, which we'll keep on a google spreadsheet or on this site for everyone to play with.
  • Each game we will pick random teams based on who shows up. Play to 5, then mix it up again. This ensures statistical significance and variability, or whatever.
  • In goaltimate you sub on the fly. Subs on the sidelines will keep the statistics on a sheet (who threw the goal, who caught the goal, who else was in the game when it happened). That's it.
  • $65 for the season. This goes to lights and insurance only. You can also pay $10 per night drop in rate, but you will not get credit towards the $65 if you decide to sign up later. Sorry. Bring a check to the fields or paypal jasonwinship at gmail dot com.
We'll shoot to start the first game at 7:30pm, so try to get to the fields by 7:00 for picking teams and all your shop talk and dynamic warmups. Any questions, let us know. First night of games is NEXT MONDAY - NOV 26th! Be there.
